This shader was originally introduced as a method to make your MMD model look more like a plastic figurine… and you can certainly see that in the face of the model. … again… Adjust the Self_Shadow and the main lights to get “the look” that you like. “Set Effect” in MME and choose “Figure Shader.fx” or “Figure Shader Dark.fx” … and… you are done! Real Figure Shader works using the same easy method. … and then you will want to adjust the main lights in MMD. You can adjust the slider to get just the effect you want. You will find that you need to have the “Self_Shadow Manipulation” set to either Mode 1 or Mode 2. You need “Self _Shadow” and see that LIGHTING is critical! Select your model and “Set Effect”… navigate to your Real Material Shader folder and select “MentalRay Shade.fx”… and… you are done. Go to the MMEffect in the upper right of the MMD screen and select Effect Mapping. There is no “.X” file to load as an accessory.
